South to southwest winds will gust to near 20 mph this afternoon and early evening. This combined with very low relative humidity and very dry vegetation and leaf litter will increase the risk for the spread or initiation of wildfires. Many areas continue under a burn ban and the National Weather Service strongly endorses that ban today across the warning area...even for those areas not under a ban.

Emergency managers, local, state, and federal fire agencies should closely monitor weather conditions for the potential for explosive fire growth.
