Severe Storms Rolling Through The Area

Severe storms are currently moving through central Kentucky bringing with it damaging winds, possible tornadoes, and reports of hail. Due to the existing threat for tornadoes, the Storm Prediction Center has issued a Tornado Watch for our area until 0500 EDT on Wednesday, April 20th.

Please keep in mind that the late night-early morning timing of the severe weather is atypical, so prepare now.  Have your NOAA Weather Radio on alert mode as much of the severe weather may occur at night while you're asleep.  Since damaging winds can cause power outages, have batteries available for flashlights and portable radios.  Be aware that power outages have already been reported across the area. If you live in a mobile home, consider finding an alternate place to stay for the remainder of the night.  Mobile homes are very susceptible to high winds and tornadoes, even if they are tied down to the ground. Continue to monitor our website or local media to stay abreast of this severe weather situation.
