24-Hour Precipitation Totals - May 15th, 2011

An upper-level low pressure system continues to spin over the Ohio Valley, causing bands of precipitation to continuously move across central Kentucky and south-central Indiana. Similar to what occurred on Friday, some of Saturday's stronger storms dumped more amounts of rain over areas marked as a bull's eye (above on map) while other locations received minimal rainfall from light showers. This precipitation trend will likely continue for the remainder of Sunday into Monday, except that it will be stratiform-type showers/rain instead of thunderstorms with different areas observing higher amounts of rainfall.
