Line of storms moving in overnight

A line of thunderstorms is approaching the region from the west.  This line is expected to weaken some, but as it encounters the warm and moist airmass across southern Indiana and central Kentucky, it likely will hold together and bring storms across the region.  Brief gusty winds to 40 mph and heavy rain, along with small hail and frequent cloud-to-ground lightning are expected as this line moves through.  This line is expected to move into the western portions of our county warning area, from Logan county in south central Kentucky to Dubois county in south central Indiana, between 2:30 and 4:30 AM.  It will continue east to the I-65 corridor from 4 to 6 AM, and into the I-75 corridor by daybreak.

In addition to the main line, showers and storms will form in the unstable airmass ahead of this line, bringing brief locally heavy rain as well as small hail and occasional cloud to ground lightning.
