The map below indicates the highest heat index value experienced during the afternoon of Wednesday, August 3rd. The readings colored in red below indicate areas that experience their highest heat indices so far this year, mainly across south central Kentucky. The other areas reached their peak values back during the two intense heat waves of July 11-12 and July 19-23.
