Peak Wind Gusts from Friday

A strong low pressure system to the north, along with partly sunny skies allowing mixing of the atmosphere led to gusty winds across the region Friday afternoon. Below is a map of peak winds recorded on area ASOS and Kentucky mesonet sites. The highest gust recorded in the forecast area Friday afternoon was at the Frankfort, KY ASOS, measuring 45 mph.
