Cool Satellite Imagery of Snowfall

Scattered to numerous snow showers, some of which were briefly heavy, rolled across the region on January 2nd. Below is a visible satellite image of the region on the morning of January 3rd. The streaks of white across west central Illinois, central and southern Indiana, and central Kentucky are actually snow cover. Most locations only received a dusting of snow across southern Indiana and central Kentucky, however a few spots picked up a half an inch to an inch of accumulation. Cloud cover is seen across the eastern third of the image.
