A very warm March ahead?????

Both the short term and the extended forecast through the next 10 days or so strongly imply unseasonably warm temperatures.  Unless it really turns cold at the end of this month, we may be heading for one of our top 10 warmest Marches on record.  Below are three graphs; the first two show our warmest March on record (1910), and our warmest March in recent memory (2007).  Compare these temperatures with the coldest March on record (1960)

Louisville Average March Temperatures Rank
                               2007 55.2 5th warmest
 1910 57.0 1st warmest
 1960 32.5 1st coldest
