Due to a very warm winter and a historically warm March, 2012 is still on track as the warmest year to date (May 21st) on record in Louisville, Lexington, and Bowling Green. In Frankfort, it's the 3rd warmest start to a year, trailing only 1946 and 1921.
Also, for meteorological spring (the months of March, April, and May), we are also exceeding the previous records, except in Frankfort where we have tied the warmest spring on record to this point. With temperatures expected to rise well above normal over the Memorial Day weekend, there's a high probability that 2012 will end up as a record-warm spring.
