Transit of Venus

Late this afternoon and continuing to after midnight, the planet Venus will cross in front of the Sun (also known as a transit).  Sky conditions over central Kentucky and South Indiana look okay for watching this transit through a solar telescope (see the note in the NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day here, copied in the image below) or look towards the sun right at sunset.  There are some scattered clouds across South Indiana and north Central Kentucky this afternoon, but these should start to break up just before sunset.  The transit also will be streaming on multiple webcasts, including one here.  Enjoy the celestial show.
