Hot Weather in the Ohio Valley

Heat will continue in the Ohio Valley today with high temperatures generally expected to be in the mid 90s. This heat will be different from the last hot spell in that overall temperatures will be lower but humidity will be higher. The end result will be heat indices increasing to the 100-105 degree range this afternoon.

Below are a few safety guidelines that will help beat the heat.

1.) Slow down. Avoid strenuous activities during the hottest part of the day, usually between 11 AM and 5 PM.

2.) Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing.

3.) Drink plenty of water! Drink water even if you are not thirsty.
