An unseasonably strong mid level disturbance and cold front will move through the Ohio Valley early this morning. A broken line of strong to severe storms will continue ahead of these features overnight especially over eastern Indiana, extreme northern Kentucky, and into Ohio. During the early morning hours, the main upper level disturbance (X in the graphic below) will dive SSE possibly creating new t-storm development early this morning. If these storms develop, they may be strong to severe. Heavy rain and cloud to ground lightning will be most common, along with severe threats of damaging winds and large hail. The best time period for strong to severe storms this morning over southern Indiana and central Kentucky will be 2am EDT to 8am EDT. Stay up to date of the latest forecasts and monitor the Storm Prediction Center for the latest severe weather outlooks.
