A strong cold front will approach the Ohio Valley this afternoon and cross the area tonight. Winds will increase out of the south as the pressure gradient tightens. Sustained winds of 20 to 25 mph will continue with gusts to 45 mph. A Wind Advisory is in effect for the entire area.
In addition to the gusty winds, a line of thunderstorms may develop west of the region and track east during the evening hours. These storms have the potential to become strong to severe in southern Indiana, with damaging winds being the main threat. Isolated tornadoes will also be possible with these storms. If tornadoes do form, they will be the type that form and dissipate *very* quickly. These types of tornadoes are extremely difficult to issue warnings for, so be sure to keep an eye to the sky and be prepared to take shelter at a moment's notice even if there is no official warning in effect.
