Information on Train Derailment/HAZMAT Incident

The Google Earth image below shows a 2.5 mile radius around a HAZMAT site involving a train derailment at the confluence of the Jefferson/Hardin/Bullitt county lines. The main focus of the incident is at the Dixie Highway and Katherine Station Road intersection. Also, it is near the confluence of the Salt and Ohio Rivers. People within the 2.5 mile radius shown below should shelter in place with windows and doors closed until further notice. People on the Indiana side of the river within the circle should not be as concerned since winds are steadily blowing from northwest to southeast and any hazardous materials from the derailment will move further into Kentucky. For more information, stay tuned to the local media and to the Shelter In Place Warning that is in effect.
