Freezing Fog Across Parts of Central Kentucky Wednesday Morning

Temperatures dropped quickly Tuesday night as skies cleared and winds lightened up with high pressure in place across the region.  The subsequent cold air combined with moisture from Monday night's rains to allow patches of dense freezing fog to develop early Wednesday morning.  Tony Caudill of Hustonville, KY, down in Lincoln county, submitted these images of the result of that freezing fog.

Low temperatures for the morning are shown in the image below.

Early morning visible satellite imagery below indicate the areas where fog developed.  The most predominant was over and north of the Lexington area as well as around Campbellsville.  Over southeast Kentucky, clouds dominate the image.
