Heavy Rainfall Today...With Possibly a Wintry Mix Tonight and Monday Night

Moderate rainfall will continue this afternoon and early this evening as a cold front slowly moves across the area.  This rainfall may cause minor river flooding as well as some areal flooding so a Flood Watch continues through this evening

Additional Rainfall through Monday:

A shallow cold airmass will seep southeast across the Ohio River late tonight into Monday morning. This could result in a changeover to some light freezing rain in southern Indiana for an hour or two before the precipitation moves out. There should be little to no accumulations of ice from the freezing rain.  However,  if water remains on the roadways tonight into Monday morning, then it will freeze as temperatures drop into the 20s leading to some slick spots.

The last in a series of waves will ride northeast along the stalled front and possibly spread light precipitation back over south and east central Kentucky late Monday afternoon and evening. A light mix of rain, snow, and freezing drizzle will be possible Monday night with this precipitation. If any freezing precipitation does develop, a few slick spots may develop across southeastern portions of central Kentucky by Tuesday morning.
