A weather system brought light precipitation to the region on Jan 25, 2012. Most of this precipitation fell in the form of freezing rain which caused significant ice accumulations across south central Kentucky. Almost all locations received at least a thin glaze of ice on the morning of the 25th making for hazarous travel conditions. Multiple wrecks occurred across southern Indiana and central Kentucky with some roadways and portions of major interstates shut down due to the treacherous, icy conditions. Below is a map with approximate ice/snow accumulations on the 25th as well as individuals pictures and reports of the significant ice.
