SE Regional Director for IN Senator Dan Coats visits NWS

Erin Houchin, SE Indiana Regional Director for Senator Dan Coats, visited the NWS Louisville office on February 12, 2013. Mrs. Houchin was briefed on the history of the NWS and its current efforts to protect the lives and property of the citizens of Southern Indiana and Central Kentucky. During her visit, NWS staff demonstrated methods for monitoring and forecasting the weather as well as issuing severe weather warnings. Before leaving, Mrs. Houchin had the opportunity to test her own warning skills by issuing a practice Tornado Warning.
