50 Years of Observing at Rough River Lake

NWS Louisville is grateful to the folks at Rough River Lake, who have been providing weather observations for 50 years. The maintenance department at Rough River Lake provides daily measurements of temperature and rainfall. Observations from Rough River Lake, and our other Cooperative Weather Observers in central Kentucky and south central Indiana, allow us to provide forecasts, warnings, and climate data to our community. Pictured above, Maintenance Leader Layman Lucas (left) accepts the 50 year award from Observation Program Leader Mike Crow. Thanks again to Layman and his staff. Also, thanks to Diane Stratton, Park Manger, for providing the photo.
