Hurricane Hunter photos from within Katrina

Hurricane Katrina ripped into the Gulf Coast eight years ago today.  John Gordon, Meteorologist-in-Charge of your Louisville National Weather Service office, flew the storm as an Air Force Reservist Hurricane Hunter before it made landfall.  The following photos were taken as the WC-130 flew through the center of the storm on Sunday, August 28, 2005.  The six member crew flew the storm for approximately ten hours in support of the National Hurricane Center in Miami.  The photos were taken by Rich Henning.
