...A LOOK BACK AT THE CLIMATE FOR SPRING 2014 FOR CHICAGO AND
ROCKFORD...

AT CHICAGO...THE AVERAGE HIGH TEMPERATURE FOR THE SEASON WAS 57.0
DEGREES WHICH IS 1.5 DEGREES BELOW THE 1981 TO 2010 AVERAGE. THE
AVERAGE LOW TEMPERATURE WAS 36.7 DEGREES WHICH IS 2.1 DEGREES BELOW
THE 1981 TO 2010 AVERAGE.  OVERALL...THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE
FOR THE SEASON WAS 46.9 DEGREES WHICH IS 1.7 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL.

A TOTAL OF 9.53 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION WAS RECORDED DURING THIS
PAST SPRING...WHICH IS 0.03 INCHES BELOW NORMAL. THERE WAS ALSO A
TOTAL OF 13.7 INCHES OF SNOW THAT WAS RECORD AT OHARE IN MARCH AND
APRIL.

AT ROCKFORD...THE AVERAGE HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS 56.9 DEGREES WHICH IS
2.9 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL. THE AVERAGE LOW TEMPERATURE WAS 35.8
DEGREES WHICH IS 2.2 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL.  OVERALL...THE AVERAGE
TEMPERATURE FOR THE SEASON WAS 46.4 DEGREES WHICH IS 2.5 DEGREES
BELOW NORMAL.

A TOTAL OF 6.23 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION WAS RECORDED DURING THIS
PAST SPRING...WHICH WAS 3.46 INCHES BELOW NORMAL. THIS MADE SPRING
2014 THE 11TH DRIEST SPRING ON RECORD SINCE 1905. IN ADDITION...A
TOTAL OF 9.4 INCHES OF SNOW WAS REPORTED.
