The average temperature for the month was 70.9 degrees which is 2 degrees above normal. 7.81 inches of precipitation was recorded which is 4.36 inches above normal. This placed June 2014 as the 5th wettest June on record. The wettest June was in 1892 when 10.58 inches fell.

One record was set during the month of June 2014 at Chicago. The record was the record daily precipitation for June 30th when 2.60 inches of rain fell. This broke the old record of 2.59 inches set in 1977.

Rockford

At Rockford, the average high temperature was 81.3 degrees which is 0.2 of a degree above normal. The average low temperature was 60.5 degrees which is 2 degrees above normal. The average temperature for the month was 70.9 degrees which is 1.1 degrees above normal. 8.06 inches of precipitation was recorded which is 3.41 inches above normal. This placed June 2014 as the 8th wettest June on record. The wettest June was in 1946 when 11.85 inches fell.
