CHICAGO AND ROCKFORD...

AT CHICAGO...THE AVERAGE HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS 82.1 DEGREES WHICH IS
0.2 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. THE AVERAGE LOW TEMPERATURE WAS 65.3
DEGREES WHICH IS 2.4 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE
FOR THE MONTH WAS 73.7 DEGREES WHICH IS 1.3 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.
7.30 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION WAS RECORDED FOR THE MONTH WHICH IS
2.40 INCHES ABOVE NORMAL.

NO RECORDS WERE SET OR TIED AT CHICAGO DURING AUGUST 2014.

AT ROCKFORD...THE AVERAGE HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS 82.0 DEGREES WHICH
IS 0.4 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL. THE AVERAGE LOW TEMPERATURE WAS
62.4 DEGREES WHICH IS 1.1 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. THE AVERAGE
TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH WAS 72.2 DEGREES WHICH IS 0.3 DEGREES
ABOVE NORMAL.  5.76 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION WAS RECORDED FOR THE
MONTH WHICH IS 1.17 INCHES ABOVE NORMAL. THERE WAS A TRACE OF SNOW
DURING THE MONTH DUE TO HAIL.

ONE RECORD WAS SET DURING THE MONTH OF AUGUST AT ROCKFORD. ON AUGUST
1ST...A RECORD DAILY MAXIMUM RAINFALL WAS SET WHEN 1.35 INCHES OF
RAIN FELL. THE PREVIOUS RECORD WAS 1.32 INCHES SET IN 2000.

AT CHICAGO...THE AVERAGE HIGH TEMPERATURE FOR THE SEASON WAS 81.0
DEGREES WHICH IS 0.9 DEGREES BELOW THE 1981 TO 2010 AVERAGE. THE
AVERAGE LOW TEMPERATURE WAS 62.4 DEGREES WHICH IS 0.7 DEGREES ABOVE
THE 1981 TO 2010 AVERAGE.  OVERALL...THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE
FOR THE SEASON WAS 71.7 DEGREES WHICH IS 0.1 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL.

A TOTAL OF 17.25 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION WAS RECORDED DURING THIS
PAST SUMMER...WHICH IS 5.20 INCHES ABOVE NORMAL. THIS MAKES SUMMER
2014 THE 9TH WETTEST SUMMER ON RECORD SINCE 1871.

AT ROCKFORD...THE AVERAGE HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS 80.8 DEGREES WHICH IS
1.9 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL. THE AVERAGE LOW TEMPERATURE WAS 60.7
DEGREES WHICH IS 0.3 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL.  OVERALL...THE AVERAGE
TEMPERATURE FOR THE SEASON WAS 70.8 DEGREES WHICH IS 1.0 DEGREE
BELOW NORMAL.

A TOTAL OF 16.28 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION WAS RECORDED DURING THIS
PAST SUMMER...WHICH WAS 3.09 INCHES ABOVE NORMAL. THIS MADE SUMMER
2014 THE 19ST WETTEST SUMMER ON RECORD SINCE 1905. IN ADDITION...A
TRACE OF SNOW WAS REPORTED DUE TO HAIL.
