Warmest Temperatures of 2008

Despite the warm temperatures in the lower 60s across most of northern Illinois and northwest Indiana on Monday, March 31st 2008, the warmest temperatures of 2008 through the end of March were experienced in the beginning of January when high temperatures reached into the middle 60s at Rockford and Chicago-OHare.  The high temperature at Rockford on January 7th reached 63 degrees and Chicago-OHare reached 65 degrees.  This marks only the third time at Rockford that the warmest temperature in the January through March period occurred in January, and only the sixth time at Chicago.
