...A LOOK BACK AT THE CLIMATE FOR THE MONTH OF APRIL 2008 FOR
CHICAGO AND ROCKFORD...

AT CHICAGO...THE AVERAGE HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS 59.8 DEGREES WHICH IS
1.8 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.  THE AVERAGE LOW TEMPERATURE WAS 39.1
DEGREES WHICH IS 1.5 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.  THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE
FOR THE MONTH WAS 49.5 DEGREES WHICH IS 1.7 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.
FOR THE MONTH...2.72 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION WAS RECORDED WHICH IS
0.96 INCHES BELOW NORMAL. FOR THE MONTH...A TRACE OF SNOW WAS
RECORDED WHICH IS 1.6 INCHES BELOW NORMAL.

TWO RECORDS WERE TIED IN THE MONTH OF APRIL AT CHICAGO. THE FIRST
WAS TIED ON APRIL 28TH WHEN A TRACE OF SNOW FELL. THE PREVIOUS
RECORD WAS SET IN 1950 AND ALSO TIED IN 1961.  THE SECOND RECORD WAS
TIED ON APRIL 29TH WHEN THE LOW TEMPERATURE WAS 31 DEGREES.  THE
PREVIOUS RECORD WAS SET IN 1958.

AT ROCKFORD...THE AVERAGE HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS 60.4 DEGREES WHICH
IS 1.3 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.  THE AVERAGE LOW TEMPERATURE WAS 39.5
DEGREES WHICH IS 2.7 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.  THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE
FOR THE MONTH WAS 50.0 DEGREES WHICH IS 2.1 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.
FOR THE MONTH...5.42 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION WAS RECORDED...WHICH IS
1.80 INCHES ABOVE NORMAL AND IS THE 13TH WETTEST APRIL ON RECORD.
FOR THE MONTH...A TRACE OF SNOW WAS RECORDED WHICH IS 1.4 INCHES
BELOW NORMAL.

ONE RECORD WAS SET AND TWO OTHERS WERE TIED IN THE MONTH OF APRIL AT
ROCKFORD. THE LOAN RECORD WAS SET ON APRIL 10TH WHEN 1.48 INCHES OF
PRECIPITATION FELL.  THE PREVIOUS RECORD WAS 1.13 INCHES SET IN
