For the current storm, or any time in the future, use the Hourly Weather Graph feature to get hour by hour forecasts of winds, temperature and precipitation type. This display also shows rain and snow totals for every 6 hour period. You can select a location anywhere in the USA. Begin at www.weather.gov If you are interested in Chicago or Rockford, start at www.weather.gov/chicago or www.weather.gov/rockford
The example above is for downtown Chicago, run at 12 noon on Tuesday, December 8, 2009.
Step 1) From the map, click on the location you'd like the forecast for: (The example below shows a point near Joliet)
Step 2) A page with the 7 day forecast loads. Scroll to the bottom of the page and under the "Additional Forecasts & Information" section click the "Hourly Weather Graph" link.
Step 3) Once the hourly weather graph comes up, you can select which elements to display (section A) or what time period to display (section B).
Step 4) Be your own meteorologist and amaze your friends and coworkers!
