...A LOOK BACK AT THE CLIMATE FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST 2011 FOR CHICAGO AND ROCKFORD...

AT CHICAGO...THE AVERAGE HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS 82.5 DEGREES WHICH IS
0.6 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.  THE AVERAGE LOW TEMPERATURE WAS 64.4
DEGREES WHICH IS 1.5 DEGREE ABOVE NORMAL.  THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE
FOR THE MONTH WAS 73.5 DEGREES WHICH IS 1.1 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.
4.54 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION WAS RECORDED WHICH IS 0.36 INCHES BELOW
NORMAL.


AT ROCKFORD...THE AVERAGE HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS 82.6 DEGREES WHICH
IS 0.2 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.  THE AVERAGE LOW TEMPERATURE WAS 62.5
DEGREES WHICH IS 1.2 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.  THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE
FOR THE MONTH WAS 72.6 DEGREES WHICH IS 0.7 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.
4.47 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION WAS RECORDED WHICH IS 0.12 INCHES BELOW
NORMAL.

A RECORD WARM LOW TEMPERATURE OF 76 DEGREES ON AUGUST 2 BROKE THE
PREVIOUS RECORD FOR THAT DATE OF 75 DEGREES SET IN 1987.
