...A LOOK BACK AT THE CLIMATE FOR THE MONTH OF DECEMBER 2011 FOR
CHICAGO AND ROCKFORD...

AT CHICAGO...THE AVERAGE HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS 41.8 DEGREES WHICH IS
7.0 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.  THE AVERAGE LOW TEMPERATURE WAS 28.6
DEGREES WHICH IS 7.9 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.  THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE
FOR THE MONTH WAS 35.2 DEGREES WHICH IS 7.5 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.
2.65 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION WAS RECORDED WHICH IS 0.40 INCHES ABOVE
NORMAL. 1.7 INCHES OF SNOW WAS RECORDED WHICH IS 6.8 INCHES BELOW
NORMAL.

A DAILY PRECIPITATION RECORD WAS SET ON DECEMBER 14TH WHEN
1.43 INCHES OF RAIN FELL. THE PREVIOUS RECORD WAS 0.99 INCHES IN
1907 AND 1975. IT WAS THE 15TH WARMEST DECEMBER ON RECORD.

AT ROCKFORD...THE AVERAGE HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS 39.7 DEGREES WHICH
IS 6.5 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.  THE AVERAGE LOW TEMPERATURE WAS 25.4
DEGREES WHICH IS 7.7 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.  THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE
FOR THE MONTH WAS 32.6 DEGREES WHICH IS 7.2 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.
2.06 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION WAS RECORDED WHICH IS 0.08 INCHES ABOVE
NORMAL. 1.7 INCHES OF SNOW WAS RECORDED WHICH IS 9.6 INCHES BELOW
NORMAL.

0.73 INCHES OF RAIN FELL. THE PREVIOUS RECORD WAS 0.65 INCHES IN
