CHICAGO AND ROCKFORD...

AT CHICAGO...THE AVERAGE HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS 76.5 DEGREES WHICH IS
6.5 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.  THE AVERAGE LOW TEMPERATURE WAS 54.6
DEGREES WHICH IS 6.3 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.  THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE
FOR THE MONTH WAS 65.6 DEGREES WHICH IS 6.5 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.
4.38 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION WAS RECORDED WHICH IS 0.70 INCHES BELOW
NORMAL.

THERE WERE 4 RECORDS SET AT CHICAGO FOR THE MONTH OF MAY. THE FIRST
RECORD WAS SET ON MAY 27TH WHEN THE HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 97 DEGREES
BROKE THE OLD RECORD HIGH OF 94 DEGREES SET IN 1911. THE SECOND RECORD
WAS SET ON MAY 28TH WHEN THE HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 95 DEGREES BROKE
THE OLD RECORD HIGH OF 93 DEGREES SET IN 1977. THE THIRD RECORD WAS
