Surfzone Forecast and Notification of Increased Rip Current Risk Suspended

The recreational swimming season for the Illinois and Indiana shores ended on October 1st.

Therefore, the issuance of Surfzone forecasts, and of notifications of periods of increased rip current danger, have been suspended for the cool season.

These forecasts and notifications will resume beginning with the 2013 Memorial Day weekend, considered the beginning of the seasonal recreational swimming season at Illinois and Indiana beaches.
