Forecast Storm Track |
![]() |
A powerful storm system over the southern plains early today will track northeastward toward the region by tomorrow. The storm is still over a day away and things can still change between now and then, but there does appear to be a good chance of significant snowfall over and close to the region, especially north of Interstate 80, accompanied by strong, gusty winds. As a result, a Winter Storm Watch remains in effect along and north of I-80 in northern Illinois. Temperatures will be close to freezing, so there will be a chance of freezing rain, sleet or even plain rain, especially south of Interstate 80, which will likely cut down on chances of significant snowfall for those areas.
