HERE ARE THE TOP 5 LARGEST ONE DAY WARM UPS DURING THE MONTH OF
MAY...

                  CHICAGO

    51 35 05/18/1955 86 05/19/1955

THERE WERE NUMEROUS INSTANCES OF 50 DEGREE WARM UPS DURING THE
MONTH OF MAY IN ROCKFORD...SO ONLY THE TOP 4 ARE LISTED. ALSO...IT
IS WORTH NOTING THAT IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE OBSERVATION TIME MAY
HAVE CHANGED WITH SOME OF THE VERY OLD RECORDS WHICH COULD RESULT
IN UNEQUAL COMPARISONS. FOR INSTANCE...IF THE OBSERVATION TIME WAS
AT 1200 UTC...THEN LOW TEMPERATURES COULD HAVE BEEN FOR THE
PREVIOUS MORNING RESULTING IN WHAT MIGHT HAVE ACTUALLY BEEN A 2
DAY WARM UP. DESPITE ANY POSSIBLE DISCREPANCY IN THE OBSERVATION
TIME THE VALUES ABOVE SHOULD PROVIDE A FAIRLY GOOD REPRESENTATION
OF JUST HOW EXTRAORDINARY AND UNUSUAL THE FORECASTED WARM UP IS
FROM TODAY TO TOMORROW.
