Moraine Valley Community College is StormReady

Moraine Valley Community College is StormReady. It is only the tenth StormReady college or university in Illinois.

Some of the requirements of the StormReady program include;

  • having redundant methods to receive severe weather warnings from the NWS
  • having redundant methods to disseminate warnings throughout the campus
  • having methods to monitor weather
  • trained storm spotters on campus
  • severe weather safety education for staff and students

The Moraine Valley Community College Police Department made sure all the requirements were met or exceeded. A presentation was made at the Moraine Valley Community College Board Meeting Wednesday November 13.
