Snow Expected later Tuesday/Tuesday Night

Low pressure is expected to organize in the southern Plains Monday night and Tuesday morning and then track to the northeast across the Tennessee Valley Tuesday night into West Virginia by Wednesday morning.  This weather system will affect much of the central Mississippi Valley region into the southern Great Lakes during this period.  Southern Wisconsin is expected to be on the northern fringe of the large area of snow from this system.

Tuesday snow

Snow is expected to begin across southern Wisconsin Tuesday afternoon into the early evening.  The snow may affect the evening commute causing slippery roads and limited visibilities.   The heaviest snowfall rates are expected between 4 pm and midnight Tuesday

At the time, there is still some uncertainty as to the amount of snow that is expected to fall across southern Wisconsin.  Most areas should receive between 1 and 5 inches, with the heaviest amounts in the far southeast toward the Illinois border.  Stay tuned to the latest forecasts from the National Weather Service concerning this next snow producer as we zero in on the amount of snow expected.
