Average Last Dates for Measurable Snow and Trace of Snow at Milwaukee and Madison

 

Now that this week's weather indicates near-normal to above normal temperatures and no snow is in the forecast through next weekend, it may be time to take a look at the average last dates for snow for a season.

The earliest date for the last measurable snow:

Now for the average dates for the last trace of snow, the dates for the latest trace of snow, and the dates for the earliest last trace of snow for a season.

Milwaukee........................April 25th                             Madison...........................April 27th 

 

The latest date for the last trace of snow:

Milwaukee........................May 31, 1912 &1993           Madison...........................May 31, 1889

                                                                                    

The earliest date for the last trace of snow:

Milwaukee.......................March 10, 1946                   Madison..........................March 19, 1981

 

As you can see, we are getting close to, but not quite past the normal last dates for measurable snow or last trace of snow. So don't tuck away the snow shovels just yet.
