Today's Tornado Drill on Schedule

As part of Tornado and Severe Weather Awareness Week in Wisconsin, a test Tornado Watch and Test Tornado Warning is scheduled for early this afternoon.

Widespread rain showers are expected over much of central and western Wisconsin through the early afternoon with a small chance for a thunderstorm as low pressure moves across the Upper Midwest.  Otherwise cloudy skies with more isolated to scattered rain showers will continue over southern Wisconsin.  No severe weather is expected.

After coordination with Wisconsin Emergency Management, the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association and the Emergency Communications Board, the test Tornado Watch and test Tornado Warning will proceed as scheduled early this afternoon.

The test Tornado Watch will be issued for all of Wisconsin at 1 pm CDT.  The test Tornado Warning will be issued for all of Wisconsin at 145 pm CDT.   The Test Tornado Watch and Test Tornado Warning drill will conclude at 2 pm CDT.

This will be a good time for businesses, schools, hospitals and families to practice safe procedures for severe weather.
