Severe Thunderstorm Threat Has Diminished - But Not Ruled Out

It appears our severe thunderstorm chances are rather limited this evening.  An unexpected and very stubborn area of lower clouds has limited the amount of heating this afternoon and therefore is providing less energy available for the storms to feed off of.   Thunderstorms are developing over portions of northwest and west central Wisconsin, but they are struggling and we feel they will remain mostly below severe levels as they move through southern Wisconsin later this evening.  We aren't ruling severe weather out completely, it just looks like less of threat that what was thought earlier.  There is plenty of uncertainty with all this, so remain alert to developing weather through the evening hours.

Here is the Storm Prediction Center outlook for severe weather.  We are in a slight risk for severe thunderstorms.
