Record Flooding over Southern Wisconsin (updated/new pictures 6-16 415 pm)

Numerous area rivers have hit record levels as a major flood event persists over southern Wisconsin.   For the latest and detailed information, go to our Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service page at:

http://www.crh.noaa.gov/ahps2/index.php?wfo=mkx

Also, for a satellite comparison of before/after the flooding, see the Cooperative Institute for Satellite Studies/University of Wisconsin Madison page at:

At least 24 locations have reached record high levels (some continue to rise).  The represents over half of the 43 river gauges in the NWS Milwaukee/Sullivan hydrologic service area.  Most of those that did not reach record levels crested in the top 5 all time.

Some of the data is missing, due to damage to the gauges, communications, and power.  So some of these crests may have been higher than the data suggests.
