Summary of Severe Weather on Monday

Severe weather rolled through parts of southern Wisconsin during the late afternoon and early evening of Monday, July 27.  A low pressure system and associated cold front tracked toward the area, setting off scattered showers and thunderstorms.  Numerous reports of severe weather were gathered, ranging from large hail, to damaging winds, to flash flooding, and even a couple of tornadoes.

Below is an animation showing the storm total precipitation from 3 pm through about 9 pm.  The light green area shows rainfall over an inch and the yellow area shows 2 to 3 inches.

Damage surveys will be conducted across Marquette county, Iowa and Lafayette county, and possibly Dodge and Fond du Lac counties on Tuesday morning.  Additional details will be known by late Tuesday afternoon.  Check out the reflectivity loop below that recaps the entire event!
