The average temperature for the month was 65.7 degrees. The previous record was 66.7 degrees in July 1891.
The highest temperature recorded in July 2009 was only 82 degrees. This is also a record. The previous record was 84 in July, 1869.
It was also a dry month, with 1.94" falling. This makes July 2009 the 7th driest in Madison. The driest was 0.29" in July 1909.
MILWAUKEE
The dry weather was also evident in Milwaukee. Just 0.71" fell, making July 2009 the 4th driest in Milwaukee. The driest was 0.28" in July 1936.
