October Was Cool, Rainy in Southern Wisconsin

 

The month of October turned out to be a rather cool and rainy month across southern Wisconsin.

 


Precipitation:

Milwaukee finished the month with the 5th wetest on record.

Madison had the 17th wetest October with 3.8" of rain (and a trace of snow).  The wetest October in Madison was 1881 with 9.12" of rain.

  


Temperature:

Both Milwaukee and Madison had below normal temperatures for the month.  Milwaukee had an average monthly temperature of 48.3 degrees, or 3.1 degrees below normal.  Madison recorded a monthly average temperature of 45.5 degrees, or 3.9 degrees below normal.
