Madison December Snowfall in Top Ten

CURRENTLY MADISON HAS RECORDED THE FIFTH SNOWIEST DECEMBER ON RECORD

Madison ends the month of December with 26.8 inches of snow. This ranks the month at the 5th snowiest on record. More than half of this monthly total came on the 8th and 9th with a storm that brought a two-day snow total of 14.1 inches. Dec 8-9 Storm Write-up

Taking a look at the list, you can see that although this December has been one of the snowiest, Madison still had less snow than Decembers the past two years!

 Milwaukee has recorded significantly less snow this December (12.0") due in part simply to the tracks the storms have taken, and in part due to the relatively warm waters of Lake Michigan.
