On Tuesday, June 15, two separate rainfall events occurred over southern Wisconsin. The first round of rain was in the early morning hours when a line of showers and thunderstorms brought brief heavy rains to locations mostly along and west of a line from Madison to Fond du Lac. A second round of rain affected all of southern Wisconsin in the afternoon. Many locations received more than an inch of rain in a few hours, with a number of areas receiving more than 2". A few locations, especially in Iowa, Sauk, Manitowoc and Fond Du Lac counties totaled more than 3" of rain.
