Severe Weather Likely This Evening (Updated 5:00 PM April 10th)

Severe Weather Likely This Evening

A strong low pressure system and approaching cold front will bring thunderstorms to much of southern Wisconsin this evening, with some of the storms likely becoming severe.

As low pressure strengthens and moves into eastern Lake Superior this evening, it will drag a trailing cold front across the region. The front will interact with an unstable air mass and bring storms to much of the area. Some of the storms will reach severe levels, with large hail, damaging winds and strong tornadoes all possible. The best chance for severe storms is northwest of Madison, where a moderate risk for severe thunderstorms remains.

Please continue to montior the situation through the evening for possible warnings.
