The reason for the nice weather?   A large ridge of high pressure in the mid and upper levels of the atmosphere will be anchored from the Great Lakes region to the Gulf of Mexico.  Meanwhile, a deep trough of low pressure will park itself over the western U.S.  This pattern will keep the jet stream and storm track west and north of southern Wisconsin with warm southerly winds at the surface.

Enjoy it while it lasts!
