A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect this morning along and south of a line from Reedsburg to Madison to Waukesha, Racine and Kenosha.  Sauk, Jefferson, Waukesha, Walworth, Racine and Kenosha counties were added to the advisory.  For the latest information on the advisory, check here.

Low pressure passing to the south of Wisconsin will bring another round of wintery weather to southern Wisconsin this morning.  An initial surge of mixed freezing rain, sleet and snow is expected early this morning.  This mixture will cause hazardous travel conditions along and south of a line from Reedsburg to the Madison area, to Waukesha, Racine and Kenosha.

A brief period of sleet and freezing rain from Milwaukee south to Racine and Kenosha early this morning will change over to mainly rain as east winds increase and pull warmer air inland from over Lake Michigan.

Mostly light snow is expected further north in the Westfield, Berlin, Fond du Lac and Sheboygan areas today.

The mixture of freezing rain, sleet and snow will gradually change over to mainly snow over south central Wisconsin later this morning or early afternoon.  The mixture of rain and snow over southeast Wisconsin will change over to mostly light snow during the late afternoon and early evening.  The heaviest snowfall is expected from Madison west to around Dodgeville, Lone Rock and Prairie du Sac.  Between 2 and 4 inches is possible in the area today. .

Morning commuters will want to be prepared to deal with deteriorating travel conditions.  Slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination.
