Madison's Record Stretch Of Record Highs

Another obscure record warmth fact:

Madison, WI has broken a high temperature record for 5 days staight, March 14th-18th. We got to thinking about the longest span of record breaking high temperatures for Madison. Madison is currently tied with the longest stretch of record high temperatures broken. There were 3 other periods where 5 high temperature records were broken in a contiguous stretch. October 1947 from the 14-18th, April 1952 from the  27th-May 1st, and Aug 1953 from the 29th through Sep 2nd. This last one was almost 9 days straight from Aug 25th through Sep 2nd. Unfortunately, a record wasn't broken on Aug 28th. We have the potential to break 3 more days of record highs at Madison, for a record stretch of 8 days!  Stay tuned.  You can look at the record data here: (in the table on the linked page)
