Updated Info On Severe Weather Potential (1:23 PM)

Severe Thunderstorms / Heavy Rain
Possible Today And Possibly Friday

Update...Severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for the development of storms along the old outflow boundary from this morning's activity.  This should continue sliding to the south through the afternoon.

The Storm Prediction Center has highlighted our area for a Slight Risk of severe thunderstorms Today and Friday.  See the images below:

Day 1 Outlook: 7 AM Thu - 7 AM Fri

Day 2 Outlook: 7 AM Fri - 7 AM Sat

Day 2 Outlook

Day 3 Outlook

We'll continue to keep an eye on any potential flooding problems as we see things evolve.  Here is the day 1 - 2 precipitation forecast from the HPC.  Storms had been focused north of Madison and Milwaukee last night and this morning.  The current thinking is that redevelopment this afternoon may occur south of Milwaukee and Madison...maybe across Iowa and Illinois.  We'll have to watch how things evolve today.  Clearing and the resultant heating/instability will be the key factors.

Here is the local forecast for rainfall from noon today through early afternoon on Friday.

The primary threat will be large hail and damaging straight line winds.  In addition, heavy rainfall could cause localized flash flooding. Stay tuned for later updates to the forecast.
