THE HIGH TEMPERATURE ON JULY 5 AT DANE COUNTY REGIONAL AIRPORT IN MADISON REACHED 104 DEGREES...BREAKING THE PREVIOUS RECORD OF 98 DEGREES SET IN 1911. THE HIGH TEMPERATURE ON JULY 4 AT THE SAME LOCATION REACHED 102 DEGREES...BREAKING THE PREVIOUS RECORD OF 98 DEGREES LAST SET IN 1955.

THE LAST TIME BEFORE JULY 2012 THAT MADISON HIT 100 DEGREES OR HIGHER WAS NEARLY 17 YEARS AGO ON JULY 13TH 1995 WHEN THE MERCURY HIT 101.  THE 104 READING FROM JULY 5 IS TIED FOR THE 3RD HOTTEST HIGH TEMPERATURE.  BELOW IS A LIST OF THE HOTTEST HIGH TEMPERATURES FOR MADISON.
