New World Record Maximum Temperature Recognized

Recently, a scientific committee recognized a new world record maximum temperature: 56.7C, or 134F, at Greenland Rance (Furnace Creek), Death Valley, CA, U.S., on July 10, 1913.  The committee disqualified the previous world record.
